6 Gorgeous Cards using only 2 colours!

"But I don't have many colours!"

I thought I'd put these 6 cards together to show you that your don't need a big range of colours to get started! You just don't! I made all these cards using just 2 colours (plus white card and black ink - but they're kind of essential anyway).

I've used some different bits with ribbon, embellishments and DSP (Designer Series Paper) but they are absolutely not essential!

Can you believe that the yellow on these flowers is all done using only the Daffodil Delight inkpad and blending brushes. I am seriously hopeless when it comes to colouring, so these Decorative Masks from Stampin' Up! are a MUST HAVE for me! And to make them even better, they are on sale this month at 10% off!

This is the first one I made, pairing the die-cut image with the Basket Weave 3D embossing folder. I added the embellishments from the Glossy Dots assortment here too. I love how the small panel of white behind the flowers help them to not get 'lost' in the basket weave and just gives them a little 'lift'.

This is the second one I made, and my least favourite.  I feel like the flowers don't stand out as much here and all together it's a bit bland, but you have to have the bland ones so others stand out, right?

I added an extra strip of DSP here, from the 'Bright & Beautiful' 6"x6". This just added an extra dimension with the extra colour thrown in too. Don't you love how your cards go through their own evolution as you create. Some things you try and they just don't 'pop' which leads you to a new idea that just does! This card also had the Adhesive Backed Transparent Dots, which worked really well.

Continuing with the DSP pack here, I was really happy with how this one turned out.  The watercolour style background in the green just worked so well! Sticking with the Basket Weave, because I just love how they go together.

Ready for something a bit different I created this background by using the Granny Apple Green ink to stamp the background onto the Granny Apple Green Cardstock. To say I'm happy with it is an understatement. No embellishment required here! In fact, I would argue that an embellishment here would push it a bit too far. (I'm a 'less is more' girl.) The other thing I did here though, was use the extra die int he set to cut out the main flower from the big image. Not sure if it's too much?  What do you think?

Lucky last (did I save the best for last?) I took my favourite background and mixed it with the Daffodil Delight Cardstock to give it a bit of extra 'pop'. Still with the extra flower added, though to be honest, I'm not sure that it really needed it. Once again, no extra embellishment, just not necessary. Just because you 'can', doesn't mean you always 'should'.

All in all, I was thrilled with how these turned out, and it's a fantastic example of why you don't need to buy all the colours to create some gorgeous cards!
